Vox Pop for Media


A fox pop is:
filmed in public
mid-shots, two shot used and filmed at eye level
information bar showing age name and  occupation
one shot of the question at the beginning of the Vox pop and then continuous footage until the next question
the answers are cut into sections
the gaze if normally off screen

Typical questions:
what are your expectations when watching a music video?
what style of music do you like best?
what conventions do you like to see?
what is your favourite music video?
what is your preferred genre?
where do you watch music videos?
what style of music do you like?                                                     

 Q1) What's your favourite music genre?
A)  We got many different music genres such as classic rock, pop, country and R&B. We asked this to find out what people enjoy and what type of people enjoy certain kinds of music.

Q2) Whats your favourite music video of all time?

A) We got a mixture of videos like Katy Perry 'Thinking Of You' and Arctic Monkeys 'Snap Out Of It'. We asked this to a) see what different genre of music include in their video and b) to see what people enjoy and it seems they enjoy a narrative in their videos.
